NACIONES UNIDAS




· Las Naciones Unidas están integradas por seis órganos principales: la Asamblea General, el Consejo de Seguridad, el Consejo Económico y Social, el Consejo de Administración Fiduciaria, la Corte Internacional de Justicia y la Secretaría. Todos ellos residen en la sede de las Naciones Unidas, en Nueva York, a excepción de la Corte (localizada en La Haya, Holanda). Diversas oficinas y programas tienen también su sede en otras partes del mundo, incluyendo Ginebra, Nairobi y Viena. El Secretario General y un personal conocido como la Secretaría proporcionan servicios esenciales para los Estados Miembros –actualmente 189–Iintegrantes de las Naciones Unidas. Están relacionados con las Naciones Unidas dieciséis organismos que realizan funciones especializadas. Son organismos independientes, cada uno de ellos integrado por distintas combinaciones de gobiernos, con sus propias sedes. Estos organismos especializados, junto con las Naciones Unidas y otro grupo de organismos en vigencia creados por la Asamblea General, el Consejo Económico y Social, constituyen el sistema de las Naciones Unidas. Algunos miembros de este sistema son más antiguos que las propia Naciones Unidas (uno de ellos tienen más de cien años de vida); la Carta de las Naciones Unidas se promulgó el 24 de octubre de 1945, luego de que los cinco miembros permanentes del Consejo de Seguridad (China, Francia, la URSS, el Reino Unido y los Estados Unidos) y otros veinticuatro Estados signatarios depositaron sus ratificaciones con el gobierno de los Estados Unidos. Desde entonces, el 24 de octubre se celebra el Día de las Naciones Unidas.




NORMAS DE IUS COGENS
· Una norma de IUS COGENS es una norma de Derecho Internacional general, que tiene su origen en la costumbre internacional, aún cuando algún tratado internacional la haya ya integrado a sus disposiciones. Entre estas normas destaca: la no-agresión, solución pacífica de controversias, o bien la soberanía permanente sobre los recursos naturales que se encuentra en otros instrumentos, tales como las resoluciones de la Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas.

UNITED NATIONS The United Nations is composed of six principal organs: the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, Trusteeship Council, International Court of Justice and the Secretariat. They all reside in the United Nations headquarters in New York, with the exception of the Court (located in The Hague, Netherlands). Various offices and programs also have their headquarters in other parts of the world, including Geneva, Nairobi and Vienna. The Secretary-General and the Secretariat staff, known as provide essential services to Member States, currently 189-Iintegrantes United Nations. Are related to the sixteen UN agencies that perform specialized functions. They are independent bodies, each composed of different combinations of government, with its own headquarters. These agencies, together with UN agencies and other groups in effect created by the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council are the United Nations system. Some members of this system are older than the UN itself (one of them have more than one hundred years of life), the United Nations Charter was promulgated on October 24, 1945, after the five permanent Council members Security Council (China, France, the USSR, the United Kingdom and the United States) Twenty-four States and other signatories had deposited their ratifications with the U.S. government. Since then, October 24 is celebrated United Nations Day.
